Smilehouse Workspace HOWTO Articles

Howto uninstall Workspace

Installer doesn't include uninstalling feature. To uninstall Workspace, you should do it manually.
The Platform Softwares chapter is written for Windows. On other platforms refer to platform and software documentation.
The other chapters are similar for all platforms.

Deleting program code

Delete following files / directories under Tomcat's installation directory:

  • webapps\workspace.*
  • shared\classes\smilehouse\

Deleting databases

Workspace includes two databases.
Databases can be deleted by starting MySQL console (command: mysql) and running following commands:

  • mysql> drop database WorkspaceOperator;
    Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.10 sec)
  • mysql> drop database ?organization?;
    Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.10 sec)
(where ?organization? is replaced with organization's name).
The alternative way is to use mysqladmin or in Windows also winMySQLadmin to drop the databases.

Deleting files

Other files are for example log file, file directory and installation questions.

  • Delete the Workspace log file which you chose in the installation (installation answers are stored to folder ".workspace" on your home directory)
  • Delete file directory which you chose in the installation. The file directory contains files used in Workspace. For example the pictures.
  • Delete directory .workspace from your home directory. It contains Installation questions

You can eather keep or remove the Patform Softwares.
If you choose to keep the softwares the only thing you must to do is to change Tomcat configurations.
