Product's direct link

Direct link is useful for creating links to products from outside the Webshop. Defined product field is used as a reference to this product. You can select this field from drop down menu on Products --> Settings --> General tab. Selectable fields are Itemcode, Name, and all the Open fields. Direct link will then be generated based on that field. If more than one product is found with the selected reference, then the first match is displayed. Direct link will display products with default theme settings, unless a theme number is given in the link. A direct link opening a product in a specific theme has the following form: http://www.mycompany.com/ShowProduct/xxx/yyy, where xxx is the product's itemcode and yyy is the theme number. The theme number part ("/yyy") of the link is optional and can be left out. If the product is hidden or not visible on the default Workspace theme, notification "Access denied for product / group" is displayed. If the link refers to a product which doesn't exist, notification "Product / Group not found" is displayed.

Itemcode

Itemcodes are created by the merchant and they can be chosen freely. Itemcode can be used to identify and organize products (cf. Arranging products).

Itemcodes must be unique. If you try to assign product an itemcode that some other product already has, an error message will be displayed. Also the itemcodes in product option choices are treated as unique itemcodes, so conflicts with them will also cause an error message.

Product name

The product names can be chosen freely. They are used for describing the items in the Administration Interface and the Webshop.

Product price

The product price is used as the sales price in the Webshop. You can use prices including or excluding VAT. You can choose this in the General settings tab in the Products module.

VAT category

The value-added tax category of the product. The tax rates (percentages) can be adjusted in the VAT settings tab in the Products module.

Purchase price

Purchase price of the product. Used to calculate profit or product price. If profit based pricing is not in use, this can be left empty.

Purchase price+VAT

A purely informational value that combines VAT and purchase price.

Profit

A calculated value based on the purchase price and the product price. If profit based pricing is in use then this value is given and product price is calculated.

Profit based pricing

If profit based pricing is enabled, the product price will be automatically calculated based on VAT category, purchase price and the profit percentage when saving the product.

Unit price

The unit price of the product. This can be shown in the Webshop and be used, for example, for comparing the prices between products sold in packages/on their own. The unit price does not affect the sales price.

Unit type

The unit in which the product is sold, for example kilos, boxes or 100 pieces.

Packet type

The unit in which the products sold in packages are sold, e.g. boxes, cases and kilos.

Packet size

The package size of products sold in packages shows how many units a package contains. For example, beer is sold in cases and in each case there are 24 bottles. The package size then is 24 and the package type is case.

Default order amount

You can define how many units you assume the customer will order.

Minimum order amount

You can set a minimum order amount that the customer has to order at a time. For example, 5 means that the customer has to order at least five units of the product. This field can be left empty.

Maximum order amount

You can set up a maximum order that the customer cannot exceed at a time. For example, 50 means that the customer cannot order more than 50 units of the product. This field can be left empty.

Amount factorial

You can set up the amount of units that have to be ordered at once i.e. the product batch size. For example, 4 means that the customer has to order an amount divisible by 4 (4,8,12,16,20,24,28,32...).

Product type

Support for creating different templates for products based on their product type. Product type is a special setting that will allow user to change product properties labels according to his wish and apply those settings to different products. Altrough the propertie value will still be the same. A product type can be used to rename the product fields so that they are suitable to the product type. You can chance product types by selecting "Choose type". When you choose certain product type for product you can click to any label for example "Openfield 1" and set value for than field than change to another product type and set another value for that field. You can also make the webshop's product page look different based on the product type. Product type have two variables $product_type_code$ and $product_type_name$. Also product type has additional label variables: $product_label_[product_propertie]$, but the [product_propertie] in the variable name must be replaced with an actual propertie name. You can use this variables Product card, Product spot, Product list WAEs to change appearance for product based on their product type. This is useful if you are selling different kinds of products. For example Clothing-product type could have fields for sizes, materials and colors, Electronics-product type wouldn't have those fields but would have power consumption, dimensions and weight.
